About the director

Aspiring to work in the field of cinema from the age of seven, Éloi Baril joined the bachelor's degree in cinema from UQÀM in 2019. From his first year, he developed his directing skills through several projects. The following year, he began developing his first feature-length documentary ELLE VA CRIER, which is now in post-production. At the same time, he concluded his studies with the shooting of his first fiction short film POUR EMPORTER which was subsequently selected at Fantasia for its world premiere. Through his work in directing and scriptwriting, Éloi addresses themes that are dear to him: family, emancipation and validation.
