Wastelands offers a window onto a time-stretched space, from which emanate the voices of five individuals. Revolving around their internal dialogues, the film takes the form of a broad conversation about the models and preconceived ideas that impact the way they experience their sexuality.
About the director

Marie-Ève is a filmmaker and visual artist based in Montreal. She recently graduated from Concordia University in Film Animation. Before her BFA she studied in Visual Arts at Cégep de Saint-Laurent, where she developed a sensibility towards materiality and the mix of multiple artistic mediums. She remains greatly interested in the convergence between visual arts and cinema, hence her interest in mixed media, under-camera animation and video installations. Her works navigate between the experimental and documentary approaches, following her interest and her sensitivity towards the subjectivity of each individual.
